Camp Killoqua: 5th Grade Camp
Jefferson 5th Graders will have the opportunity to attend overnight camp at Camp Killoqua in May 2026! Our 5th Grade teaching team is dedicated to having an outdoor education experience each spring.
The Outdoor Education Program at Camp Killoqua encourages students to become ecologically literate, responsible citizens, in an experiential learning environment. The program utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to promote the appreciation of our natural surroundings and the values of community living. Our aim is to teach students the concepts of sustainability and interdependency outside of the classroom walls.
In addition Camp Killoqua’s Outdoor Education Program addresses and meets The Framework for Environmental Education in Washington State, produced by the Washington State Office for Environmental Education.
Jefferson PTA offers a variety of opportunities for the 5th Grade Fundraising Committee to raises funds to cover the cost of camp. Throught their hard work, the cost of camp is greatly reduced for every 5th grader each year. 5th Grade Fundraising sales concessions at PTA events, manages a Deck the Halls winter decor sale, offers discounted Brown Bear Car Wash certificates for purchases, and sets up many more opportunites for the Charger Community to come together, have fun, and ensure camp is affordable for everyone.
